Monterosso al Mare is one of the five villages of the Cinque Terre, famous for its beaches and colorful shore.
This is the view of Monterosso al Mare from the furthest edge of the port looking back into the old town, which locals call Borgo Antico.
Stone buildings are tucked among the mountains that spill down toward the sea. Each one is a different hue ranging from rose, gold, and apricot to cool green.
Threaded through the terraces you can see the stone walkways that connect the villages with walking trails. High above the town, you can even see some bridges for the train that connects the Cinque Terre to the rest of Italy.
